About Rob

Overcoming the grave disadvantage of being born in Florida, Rob Cameron Fowler is a freelance writer and filmmaker who has traversed the globe, in search of a perspective. Raised in the Middle Eastern countries of Oman, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates in conjuction with his American home in Virginia, he is drawn to geolopolitical politics and exposure to exotic cultures.
Accepted into the Roger Ebert Scholarship for Film Criticism in its first year, Robert wrote for Indiewire and RogerEbert.com at the Sundance Film Festival 2014, which remains both a career and life highlight. Spending the last year in New Orleans as a production and locations assitant, he has gained a deeper understanding of the demands and joys of independent filmmaking. When Rob is not writing coverage of festivals and other journalistic pursuits, he is honing his craft in screenwriting.
